Dining Room

What paint color should I use for my dining room which has a royal blue carpet in it.?

The dining room is not large at all. It has dark wood moldings and a dark wood piano in the dining room. It also has dark wood french doors that open to reveal the living room.
Please help I want the room to be inviting to family and friends.

I popped the color “royal” into the Behr online color visualizer, and the coordinating paint color that I liked the best was “classic taupe.” It’s not a dark shade, so it won’t disguise the dark wood or make the room feel smaller. Check it out:
